Common Types of Marine Wire-Cable

Marine Wire-Cable (TinnedCopper)

Marine Wire-Cable may also be listed as Tinned Cable-Wire. The copper conductor will usually possess a tin coating which causes the strand to be called “tinned copper.” Tinned copper marine cable-wire is built to reduce corrosion and prevent electrical failure.

Marine Cable-Wire (Tinned Copper) can be used in 105ºC marine applications, in the internal wiring of electrical equipment and for general circuit wiring. It is employed for electrical connections in the marine conditions where a tinned conductor is preferred.Tinned copper marine cable-wire performs well in all marine conditions, even in salt water.

Marine Cable-Wire (BareCopper)

Marine Cable-Wire (BareCopper) can be used in 105ºC marine applications, in internal wiring of electricale quipment and for general circuit wiring. The marine cable-wire shares many of the same applications and properties as tinned cable-wire. However, the conductor is bare copper instead of tinned copper.

SAE Cable-Wire

SAE Cable-Wire is General Purpose Thermoplastic (GPT) insulated primary wire that corresponds to SAE specifications. SAE Cable-Wiremay be used for general purpose marine applications. It usually has a temperature range of -20ºC to 105ºC.

Flat Marine Cable

Flat Marine Cable is a multi-conductor marine cablet hat can be used for marine cable. Flat marine cable has a PVC insulated multi-conductor.

Round Marine Cable

Round Marine Cable is much like flat marine cable. However, round marine cable makes for easy installation where tight, jagged spaces are present. Many installers of marine cables favor round cables because the yare easier to arrange. Additionally, round boat cable may be used for tough conditions.

Marine Battery Cable

Marine Battery Cable generally has a temperature range of -20ºC to 105ºC . The battery cable also resists oil, fueland acid.
Marine battery cable is designed to survive the tough marine conditions. The cable normally has a high strand count cable with tin plated coppers tranding. Marine battery cable may be used in battery installations.

Shipboard Cable

In Shipboard Cables, the specifications were developed in response to flammability, smoke, and toxicity concerns, and are meant to provide extra safety measures for the people and equipment aboard ships and vessels.

Low smoke zero halogen shipboard cables; their zero halogen design at ion indicates that they do not emit toxic fumes when in contact with fire. Power, communication, control, lighting, electronic, instrumentation, and special purpose cables can all be found in this specification.

Coaxial Cables are low smoke radio frequency / highfrequency cables fit foruse on ships & vessels. They are flexible and
abrasion resistant as well as low smoke and zero halogen –properties make the mdurable and very low in toxicity.

The Marine cable with zero halogen is a safety cable. In case of fire, it does not emit toxic or corrosive gases, thereby protecting public health and avoiding any possible damage to electronic equipment. For this reason, its use is recommended in marine applications.
